Despite the chilly and rainy weather, the Irwin County Middle School Football team rose to the occasion in a thrilling SGAC Conference Championship game against Clinch County. The game was a true showcase of determination and teamwork, with Irwin ultimately emerging victorious with a final score of 27-12. This championship win was a testament to the talent, spirit, and dedication of the Irwin County Middle School athletes.

The first half was a fierce battle with both teams showcasing their skills and determination. Irwin took the lead late in the second quarter, thanks to a dazzling touchdown run by Kenyan Holland. The scoreboard read 14-6 in favor of Irwin at the end of the half. Clinch loaded their arsenal and launched a fierce running attack of their own pulling within two to start the second half. The score was 14-12, still in favor of Irwin but the game was far from decided, and both teams were determined to give it their all.

Irwin wasn't about to let the championship slip away. Late in the third quarter, Rodriguez Wynn led a remarkable drive down the field, capping it off with a crucial touchdown run. The extra point extended the lead to 21-12,  as they headed into the final quarter. 

Irwin's defense deserves special mention for their exceptional performance. In the fourth quarter, they held Clinch at bay, pitching a shutout and preventing any further scoring attempts. Their resilience and teamwork were integral to securing the championship victory. With about a minute left in the game, Rodriguez Wynn put the icing on the cake with another remarkable touchdown. His electrifying scamper into the end zone was the final flourish in a game filled with exciting moments, securing the championship for Irwin with a final score of 27-12.
