Irwin County Middle/High School is proud to open its new Social Emotional Learning (SEL) room. The SEL room is a dedicated space designed to foster emotional well-being, mental health awareness, and overall student/staff success. SEL is an essential component of education that focuses on developing students’ self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
The SEL room has comfortable seating, calming colors, and resources (books, journals, and stress-relief tools) serving as a tranquil oasis where students and staff can de-stress, practice mindfulness, and develop effective coping mechanisms.
SEL is a testament to our commitment to providing a supportive and nurturing learning environment.
As students and staff utilize the SEL room, the school anticipates positive outcomes in academic performance, behavior, and overall school climate.
